Founded in 1945, Inverarity Morton is Scotland’s leading independent wines and spirits merchant. By focusing on our people, our product and our service, we have worked hard to establish a reputation at the forefront of our industry… but we never rest on our laurels! This summer we will be opening our first retail site in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter as well as launching our direct to consumer website as we continue to seek out incremental revenue streams to drive our business forward.
Our core business remains composite wholesaling to the licensed trade, to whom we supply an unrivalled portfolio of drinks brands. Our wine list features over 2,000 wines handpicked from around the world, many of which we carry exclusively, and we have an extensive range of boutique premium spirits, craft beers, and soft drinks all forming part of a market leading portfolio. We are taking what we have learned from decades of wholesaling and creating a new and exciting retail proposition in partnership with Bonnie & Wild Marketplace.
Who are we looking for as our Retail Manager?
This position has been created to help us take things to the next level in the wine and spirits market allowing you to develop and grow in your career whilst playing your part in the delivery of our ambitious plans for growing our retail proposition.
This role will report directly to the Sales Director and is a great opportunity for people who are passionate about wine & spirits, able to work independently and have the gravitas and credibility to communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
You will be a key ambassador for our business in promoting our fantastic portfolio to customers, whilst engaging them with your passion, expertise and credibility about all things wine and spirits.
- Experience in a sales is essential with knowledge of wine and spirits is preferred.
- WSET qualifications are desirable and a willingness to learn essential.
- Demonstrate success in driving sales by leading and motivating a team
- Experience in event coordination would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of retail operational process including stock control essential
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding communication, problem solving and operational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights and public holidays to meet business needs.
- Great IT skills
