A vacancy has arisen for the position of Security/Customer Service Officer within Multrees Walk, Edinburgh's luxury shopping destination. The successful applicant should be flexible, enthusiastic, and preferably have experience in the security industry. Applicants must possess and valid SIA DS/SG licence and a CCTV licence would be ideal. Customer Service is paramount at Multrees Walk, strong communication skills are essential
Purpose of the role
To assist with the smooth running of our shopping street and back of house areas, to assist with all emergencies when they occur. This includes providing visible security cover to our shopping street, handling enquiries and customer concerns, monitoring CCTV (by suitably trained and licensed staff) and controlling contractors and deliveries to our premises and giving excellent customer service.
Main Duties
To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
To undertake regular patrols of the Centre as instructed by the Centre Management.
To carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by Centre Management.
To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the centre.
To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are complied with at all times
Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Daily Occurrence Register and that detailed incident reports are written in a timely manner.
Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully, to the centre procedures for contractor management.
Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
To assist with enquiries from the public if so required
To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company
In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security License and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance License (CCTV)
To carry out and record weekly landlord life safety system tests after training from the security manager.
Complete daily landlord audits and paperwork
To have excellent communication skills both verbally and written
Completion of daily, weekly and monthly paperwork and audits including updating the site keyholders, KPI’s and checklists.
Ensuring that all aspects of health and safety are followed, in particular those identified within the personnel and procedures manual.
- Report any maintenance or operational issues within the site and report to the Security / Centre Manager. .
To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with and assist with fire activations within the site.
To undertake and ensure regular patrols of the site both internally and externally, checking doors and areas for signs of unauthorised entry and ensure a visible security presence at all times during all trading hours.
Prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of all doors and windows.
Ensure that all incidents are recorded with full detailed incident reports written, this may include gathering further information and evidence.
Implementation of the visitor and contractor procedures and ensuring that safe working procedures are adhered to at all times
Monitor and review the site CCTV and work within the site control room which includes answering and dealing with telephone enquiries, managing the intruder system, fire alarm panel, managing the visitors log, lost and found property.
Ensure compliance with the Security Industry Act 2001, in that all officers must hold a valid SIA Security License and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance License. Arrange refresher training as required

Hours of Work Will vary weekly however dayshift and nightshift working is required
