Meet Zoe, a candidate that found her career through Dune.
What prompted you to get in touch with FUSE and what were you hoping to achieve at the time?
Universal Credit helped me get in touch with FUSE, and then FUSE passed my CV on to Dune London.
Because of that referral, I got invited for an interview for the role. I was hoping to get support with the process and make sure everything was done correctly so I could be set up to succeed in the interview/role.
This turned out to be the case and I am super thankful to FUSE!
How would you describe your first impression of FUSE and support your received?
My first impression of FUSE was really positive. Lindsay was especially helpful — she asked questions about what I was looking for, talked me through the available jobs, and checked if I wanted my CV forwarded to the employers.
It made the whole process feel supportive and personalised.
What part of the FUSE process helped you the most?
The part of the FUSE process that helped me the most was the phone call I had with Lindsay. She asked about me personally, what kind of work I’d be interested in, and what roles would suit me.
Having someone take the time to understand what I wanted and then match me with suitable jobs really made the difference.
Did FUSE help you feel more confident when applying for roles in retail or hospitality?
Yes, FUSE definitely helped me feel more confident. Lindsay talked me through what kinds of roles would suit me and even gave me information about what interviews are like for certain companies.
That really helped me feel more prepared and less nervous when applying for retail roles like the one at Dune London.
What would you say to someone who is unsure about reaching out to FUSE?
I’d tell them not to hesitate. FUSE were really supportive, and they make the whole job-search process feel much easier. They take the time to get to know what you’re looking for and give helpful guidance, so it’s definitely worth reaching out.
My new role has given me more structure and confidence day-to-day. It’s helped me feel more independent and has given me something stable to build on for my future plans. It’s also helping me develop experience in retail, which I can use to progress further.
